As architects, we hope to engage architecture from a different perspective, to document, to describe and to understand the spaces where people live, in a more humane way, with emotions. We also want more people, even children, to know about architecture. We were inspired by Drawing Architecture Studio’s A Little Bit of Beijing as well as Chris Ware’s Building Story. While HUTONG

Juxtaposition is by no means an original method, we’ve learned a lot about the representation of space through storytelling and colour. And even more about the activities and time in space.

HUTONG Juxtaposition is set to describe something rather simple but also mind-blowingly complex, the relationship of people, space and time. People are not mere objects, their memories, emotions and lives are inseparable from cities, buildings and design. A valuable lesson to all of us.
